The new header design from the other day was applied only to the 6 surviving front pages and their sub-blogs, not Gawker.

...But I see that the old header design is back now, across all blogs.

They needed to redistribute the writers, so they got shuffled to sub-blogs with more open topics.

The intention is to still push the same stories, just not under the (legally tainted) gawker name.

There’s always the kinja blocker plugin for chrome. Just ghost the writers that don’t contribute to the core of the main blogs.

That. Deadspin was grabbing the same content before the Gawker-Media-wide reshuffle on The Concourse . Same deal now, only with a few more writers in the mix.

Folks are freaking out like GASSSP SOMETHING CHANGED WITH CONTENT and really, nah. Authors found new spots—that’s it. (No one came to Jalopnik , though. Womp womp.)

As far as Jalopnik goes, I don’t actually think of it as a cars-only blog. I think that the bigger picture of transportation is a welcome inclusion, and I enjoy seeing things like trainlopnik and planelopnik posts in the mix. It’s all still on-topic IMO, and I really appreciate Jalopnik staying on-topic like that.

It’s really a matter of organization to me. As long as the posts are in the right spot, publish away! If it’s tech, put it up on Gizmodo; if it’s self-help, post it on Lifehacker. I’m not sure where the best spot for general gossip would be in the absence of Gawker.com, but I totally understand the interest of trying to keep folks employed.

Speaking of posting things to the correct blog, I really think that all those motorsport posts I see on Deadspin ought to be originating from Black Flag. If Deadspin is a general sports blog, and BF is motor racing, then those posts should be published on BF, and then get shared to DS (if so desired), the same way they get shared to Jalopnik. Is it just a matter of activating authorship for those writers, or am I oversimplifying things?
